3. Cookies
Our website uses cookies. When you visit the website, essential cookies may be automatically stored. These cookies only ensure the website runs smoothly.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer, phone, tablet or other device when you visit a website.
Cookies help us recognise your device the next time you visit our website. Other similar technology exists, such as tracking pixels (transparent images placed on a web page or in an email, which show that said page or email has been opened), web bugs (similar to tracking pixels) and web storage, used in desktop software and mobile devices. There is also technology such as mobile device log-ins and SDK integrations (software development kits) to help companies recognise your device when you return to an app or otherwise use a service.
What cookies do you use on your websites?
We don’t use cookies that store sensitive personal data.
To check what cookies are on our website and change your preferences at any time, please visit the ‘Personalise’ page found in the footer of each page on the website or via the following link
Some cookies are strictly necessary and must always be enabled for our website to work properly. These cookies are essential for you to be able to browse the website and use its features. Without these cookies, the services you have requested, such as remembering your login details or the items in your cart, cannot be provided. These cookies protect PIERRE BALMAIN and its customers against fraudulent activity.
Other cookies are only stored once you have specifically given your consent. Blocking these cookies may impact on your browsing experience on our website and how we interact with you. Functional cookies: these cookies remember your preferences, such as the country from which you are accessing our website, your language and your search settings (e.g. size, colour or product range). They therefore enable us to offer you an experience that is better tailored to your preferences and to make your visits more personalised and enjoyable. The information collected by these cookies may be anonymised and does not allow your browsing activity on other websites to be tracked.
Targeting cookies or advertising cookies: these cookies collect information about your browsing habits in order to show you adverts that are more relevant to you and your interests. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advert. These cookies are generally set by third-party advertising networks. They track the websites you visit and this information is shared with other parties, such as advertisers.
Performance cookies: These cookies collect information about how you use our website (for example, we use Google Analytics cookies to help us understand how customers access, browse and use our site) and highlight areas where we can improve, such as navigation, the shopping experience and marketing campaigns. They are also used to help measure the effectiveness of an advertising campaign.
Third-party cookies / Social media: Our website contains third-party apps from Facebook, X, Instagram, Google, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, Apple, Rakuten and Pinterest. These are designed to help you share content from our website with others, or to show others what you’ve been looking at or what you think of content on our website (by using social media ‘Share’ or ‘Like’ buttons, for example).
These app buttons can allow social media platforms to identify you, even if you don’t use the button when browsing our website, and to track your browsing on our website simply by having your social media account open on your device (open session) at the time of browsing.
Once you leave our website, we have no control over the process used by social media platforms to collect information on your browsing: we invite you to check their privacy protection policies and read through the ‘purposes of use’, in particular advertising, for the browsing information they may gather when you use their platforms. These protection policies should empower you to have your rights and preferences applied by these social media platforms, in particular by configuring your user account settings on each platform.
